xAI's Colossus passes 300 megawatts in Memphis
With 150,000 H100 and 50,000 H200 chips online, Epoch AI estimates the Memphis training cluster at about 360 MW of facility power, the first U.S. AI site it tracks past 300 MW.
Colossus ran its first large training job in August 2024 on 25,000 H100s and reached 100,000 by September. Epoch AI’s estimates combine company chip counts with satellite imagery, permits and utility filings.
