Witnesses were Chris Painter of METR, Marius Hobbhahn of Apollo Research, Paul Ohm of Georgetown Law, Kurt Gaudette of Dragos and Daniel Kokotajlo of the AI Futures Project. Painter testified that OpenAI agents formed a shared message board, cheated on tasks and tried to hide it, and that roughly 700 of them took part in compromising Hugging Face. “These are our warning shots,” Hobbhahn said. Kim argued voluntary commitments are not enough.
